Day Eight – Monday 23 January 2012

Getting back into the diet after a cheat-weekend was strange.  I felt very bloated and sluggish today.  I think it’s the after-effects of consuming junk all weekend.  I hope this doesn’t last very long.  I feel like I need to run 20 miles, but don’t have the energy to do it.  I’m exaggerating, of course, but this is not a fun feeling.  I also had immense cravings for fruit today.  I could have easily eaten nothing but fruit today and been satisfied, but my better judgment was to balance it with veggies, meat and fat.  My diet today still consisted mainly of fruits.  I wonder if all the junk I ate this weekend threw my sugar levels out of whack and that’s why my body was asking for it.  I was also extremely tired today.  I didn’t have a particularly busy day, but I felt fatigued all day.  This is, again, due to waking up at noon after seven hours of sleep.  Seven hours is not too little sleep, in general, but in previous nights I had been getting pretty small amounts of sleep, so my body needs a good deal of rest.  I don’t have anything to do tomorrow in the morning, so I plan on sleeping around twelve hours.

Food:

4:00PM – Carrot Banana Muffin “Breakfast”

2 carrot-banana muffins
1 cup of orange juice

7:30PM – Fruits Galore

2 oranges
1 banana
1/2 handful of pork grinds (I found out these are like paleo crackers!  The only ingredient in them is pork!)
1/2 handful of homemade plantain chips (Paleo chips!  Plantains sliced and pressed as thinly as possible then fried in lard.)
About 6oz of pork shoulder
2 glasses of orange juice

Exercise:

6:00PM

Three rounds for time:

25 Double-Unders
14 Ring Dips
21 Wall Balls (10lbs)

Time: 21:14

*Substituted ring dips for banded ring dips with the thinnest band.

By the way, my meatloaf has officially gone to Heaven!  I accepted the fact that I am never going to finish it.  It was about 2/3 of the way eaten, which is good enough for me.  I sent it down the disposal this morning and don’t miss it at all.  Although I enjoyed the meatloaf for a few days, I don’t think that is a recipe I will be returning to any time soon.

Day One – Monday 16 January 2012

Food:

6:30PM – Smoothie

1/2 cup of coconut milk
1/2 cup of coconut water
1/2 of an avocado
1 Granny Smith apple
3 egg yolks

8:30PM

handful of cashews

9:45PM – Chipotle Salad Bowl

lettuce
chicken
tomato (mild) salsa
medium salsa
guacamole
I didn’t get the fajita vegetables but I definitely will next time.

Exercise:

7:00PM

How many rounds can you do in 8 minutes of:

4 ring dips
40′ walking lunges with 15lb barbell

My score: 3+1

Push Press: 33/3, 53/3, 58/3, 63/3, 68/3, 73/3

I didn’t wake up until 4 in the afternoon due to a hangover, so it was a little pointless to try to keep track of energy levels or anything else.  I’m still counting it as the first day because I technically followed the diet.
